Barnet has so much artistic talent and one of our favourites is Julie Eve with her delicately elegant work which includes her Red Thread Stories which make beautifully distinctive gifts.
You might have already seen Julie’s greeting cards and pictures in 89 and Floral and Hardy, but her Red Thread Stories are always made as bespoke commissions. These life story maps are inspired by the Japanese legend that all those with whom we will make history are bound together by a magical red thread. Although the threads may stretch and tangle, they will never break.
Julie creates these individual works with her trade-mark red thread and they are laid out as maps designed to be read as a story with reminders of events and places leading up to a special occasion. Key places are labelled and often illustrated with finely detailed little pictures, presented with style and wit.
On a personal level, it’s been a treat working with Julie to create such unique gifts for family and friends and the response to the Red Thread Stories has never been anything less than pure delight.
