Creative Dance with Live Music for Over 55s
Dare2Dance Company (D2D) is looking for new members! Are you interested in creative dance and would you like to be part of our community in a relaxed, joyful atmosphere and safe environment for self-expression? Everyone is welcome and no prior dance experience necessary. First class is free for newcomers and after that it's pay as you go. Dare2Dance Company (D2D) is a creative dance company for seniors, formed in 2011 by Jane Judd. Based in North London the group is now lead by Jane's daughter-in-law, Maga Judd. Barn dancing for two hours in the afternoon, starting at 4pm with members of the Red River Band providing live music. Beginners most welcome. It's good, moderate exercise and a lot of fun. No experience needed. All dances are usually ‘walked through’ first and 'called' (continuous directions). We meet every other Monday except Bank Holidays and the school summer holidays. Meet Jack, the poor and disheartened character of our Christmas show, who - along with Jack’s exasperated mother and bothersome sibling - lives in a tiny house, in a run-down seaside town. Bullied and outcast Jack takes refuge in arcade games, playing them every day on the paint-stripped pier. One day, instead of just playing the video game, Jack becomes a part of it, suddenly lost within a magical world where some ‘giant’ challenges must be faced. With the help of some unusual characters, met along the way, Jack must overcome these trials to complete the levels of ‘The Beanstalk’.…
