FREE MONDAY CLASSES 10am–12pm or 1-3pm ART FOR WELLBEING explores basic drawing skills as an activity to enhance wellbeing. Each week we will be walking out into the unique landscaped grounds at Stephens Hse & Gardens to find something satisfying to draw. No drawing experience necessary. For active walkers; carers welcome! Art for wellbeing classes, held in partnership with Barnet Southgate College. Monday January 16 – February 6th. Booking essential. Unfolding Theatre: Hold On Let Go
Alex is 56. Luca is half his age. Alex has an encyclopaedia in his head. Luca has one on her phone. Alex can’t recall his mother’s voice or most of the 1980s. But, he can instantly bring to mind his mother’s cooking and his family’s stories of the Spanish Civil War. Luca worries that she can’t remember the important stuff – things that might make the world a better place. Her journey sucks her into a black hole crammed full of everything she’s ever forgotten. Spoken word meets dance, live music meets clowning. An intimate spectacle of identity, where being British, Iranian, and a Hip-Hop head collide. From Bristol to the Tehran marathon and back again, Bobak Champion invites us to join him on a journey to accept his own heritage, against a media culture which holds fast to the idea that the Middle East is a frightening and dangerous place. A joyful evening of dance theatre, it's through meeting a series of weird and wonderful characters from across the world that Bobak is finally able to truly know himself.
