Enjoy a Mill Green Afternoon Tea with local author and artist Peter Waine as he talks about his inspiration for his books 'As I Go Wandering: A Love Letter to the English Countryside' and '22 Ideas that saved the English Countryside.' Peter is a former national chairman of CPRE( the Campaign to Protect Rural England), of the National Fruit Collection and of the Tree Council. He is a former judge of the Wainright Literary Prize for writing on the countryside and for the Contrarian Prize.

The Answer Lies in the Soil is the topic this evening as we enter the start of autumn and winter. How will you treat your soil? Hopefully we will be able to watch a few videos and discuss not only our soil preparation but also the crops we might grow. Will we use cardboard and mulch or will we grow cover crops? When should we spread compost to prepare our beds or support our gardens over the winter?
