Googlies Jazz Supper Club
Googlies Jazz Supper Club hosts some of the country’s best jazz musicians and offers a optional freshly prepared two course meal with table service and a well stocked, reasonably priced bar in the intimate setting of Botany Bay cricket pavilion. Music at Googlies covers a wide range of styles including Mainstream, Bebop, West Coast, Latin etc with interpretations of many ‘standards’ and jazz classics. The bar will be open from 7pm. Places and suppers must be ordered in advance. We will allow only limited numbers to ensure safe spacing. Bookings from people who are not currently paid-up members will only…

The Big Choir London is a community "no audition" fundraising choir. We raise money for Cancer Research, and have a lot of fun doing it. We're singing contemporary pop songs, anything from the 60's to modern day, we'll be trying a few show tunes and maybe even some gospel. Anything is possible! Come and join us.... Rossini’s “Petite Messe Solennelle” (“Little Solemn Mass”) is famously neither little nor solemn. The composer brings all his operatic talents to bear in a work that is joyously exuberant and dramatic. Writing later in his life, Rossini took the opportunity to please himself and paid little attention to conventional approaches to sacred composition. The mass is written for choir, soloists, piano and harmonium. In FCC’s performance, the soloists are all regular choir members. Finchley Symphony Orchestra's concert conducted by Christopher Stark will open with something of a rarity. Scriabin is perhaps known as a somewhat eccentric composer of large-scale pieces but his rarely performed ‘Rêverie’ is a short, languid evocation of dreaming. Dvorak’s is rightly one of the best loved concertos for the cello, typically packed with wonderful melodies and the punchy rhythms of Bohemia. Our soloist is Peteris Sokolovskis, a winner of the Royal College of Music Cello Competition and member of the Kremerata Baltica chamber orchestra.
