Coronation Gala Concert
The evening will begin at 7pm with a welcome drink (included in the ticket price), followed by a Gala Concert of musical favourites from stage and screen with professional musicians Angela Henckel (soprano), Charlie Morris (bass baritone) and Martyn Noble (pianist). Finchley Chamber Choir is currently looking for a few new voices. It is a friendly but hard-working locally based group of about 30 singers, usually giving five concerts each season in Trinity Church, Nether Street, North Finchley, N12 7NN, as well as other occasional performances at home and abroad and some BBC broadcasts. The regular rehearsal night is Tuesday (7.45pm - 10.00pm) at their concert venue. Googlies Jazz Supper Club hosts some of the country’s best jazz musicians and offers a optional freshly prepared two course meal with table service and a well stocked, reasonably priced bar in the intimate setting of Botany Bay cricket pavilion. A founder member of folk-rock legends LINDISFARNE, Rod Clements wrote their instantly-recognisable breakthrough hit ‘Meet Me On The Corner’ for which he received an Ivor Novello award.
