With its long and fascinating history (dating back to the 12th century), Barnet's traditional food market is a lively community hub. And rightly so, given the name of the town Chipping Barnet derives from the Anglo Saxon word for market, Chepe or Cheap. Now located by the bandstand at the back of The Spires, it's an ideal starting point for local food shopping with plenty of fresh seasonal produce - plus some decent coffee from the Smart Coffee Company.

Tickets for Kids Club are just £3 with a FREE activity for kids aged 5-10 beforehand. Places for the activity are limited and we suggest booking early in person or by calling 020 8444 6789. Tickets for the film are £3. Activities start at 11am sharp and all children attending the workshop must be accompanied by an adult. Film starts at midday. Children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Come & join us for Mozart's sparkling introduction to his comic opera: overture to Cosi fan Tutti. Haydn's last symphony, written when he was in London, full of wit & charm. Samuel Barber's violin concerto full of beautiful writing & a truly virtuoso soloist (Madeleine Pickering). Malcolm Arnold wrote music for Bridge on the River Kwai & the original St Trinian's films. Barnet Classic Car Show

The event starts with a parade of classic cars along the High Street in High Barnet at 10.30am. The cars will then be on display on the top floor of the Britannia car park in The Spires Shopping Centre until 3.00pm. There will be around 120 classic cars and also a few classic motorcyces. The 2024 Show will include a special display of Lotus cars to celebrate Barnet's link with the brilliant founder of Lotus Cars, namely Colin Chapman. Local singer, Katie Oldham, along with Down2Earth will provide music during the event. Attendance is free for spectators.
