Finchley Symphony Orchestra's concert conducted by Christopher Stark will open with something of a rarity. Scriabin is perhaps known as a somewhat eccentric composer of large-scale pieces but his rarely performed ‘Rêverie’ is a short, languid evocation of dreaming. Dvorak’s is rightly one of the best loved concertos for the cello, typically packed with wonderful melodies and the punchy rhythms of Bohemia.
